The East Canal Counter-Terrorism Forces Command and the Western Military Region Command organized meetings with the Sheikhs and tribal elders of Sinai and Matrouh, in the presence of a number of Members of the House of Representatives, as well as a number of security and executive officials and representatives of civil society in Sinai and Matrouh.
The meetings addressed citizens’ demands in various fields, in addition to reviewing the latest developments and comprehensive development plans being implemented in cooperation with the various concerned state agencies.
During the meetings, Major General Staff Hisham Fathy Shendy, Commander of the Eastern Canal Counter-Terrorism Forces, and Major General Staff Bashir Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Commander of the Western Military Region, conveyed the greetings and appreciation of lieutenant general Ashraf Salem Zaher, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, and lieutenant general Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, to those in attendance. They also commended the continued cooperation with the sheikhs and tribal elders across various fields in order to ensure a decent standard of living for the people of Sinai and Matrouh.
For their part, the sheikhs and tribal elders expressed their appreciation for the sincere efforts undertaken by the Egyptian state in support of the comprehensive development process throughout Egypt. They also commended the dedicated national role played by the Armed Forces across all of the state’s strategic directions.
This comes within the framework of the Armed Forces’ commitment to strengthening community engagement with the people of the governorates falling within the areas of responsibility of the field armies and military regions.
