التقى السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي، بالدكتور رشاد العليمي رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني، وذلك على هامش القمة العربية غير العادية المنعقدة بالعاصمة الإدارية الجديدة.
وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية بأن اللقاء أكد على دعم مصر الثابت لوحدة واستقلال الدولة اليمنية وسلامة أراضيها، مع التأكيد على إرتباط أمن وإستقرار اليمن بالأمن القومي المصري وأمن المنطقة العربية والبحر الأحمر.
وأضاف السفير محمد الشناوي، المتحدث الرسمي، أن السيد الرئيس شدد على تأييد مصر لكافة الجهود الرامية إلى التوصل لحل سياسي للأزمة اليمنية، بما يلبي طموحات الشعب اليمني الشقيق وينهي معاناته الإنسانية، مؤكداً على أن مصر لديها القناعة الراسخة بأن الأزمة اليمنية لن تحل بإستخدام القوة، وإنما ينبغي التركيز على تحقيق تسوية سلمية سياسية تفضي إلى حل شامل ودائم لها.
وأوضح المتحدث الرسمي أن رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني أعرب عن شكره للسيد الرئيس ولمصر على جهودها في إستعادة الإستقرار في اليمن ودعم الشعب اليمني الشقيق، مشيدًا بإستضافة مصر للآلاف من اليمنيين الذين يتلقون معاملة مثلى من أشقائهم المصريين، مما يعكس عمق العلاقات التاريخية بين الشعبين.
كما ذكر المتحدث الرسمي أن اللقاء تناول سبل إستعادة الأمن والإستقرار في منطقة باب المندب، حيث تم التأكيد على أهمية وقف الهجمات التي تستهدف السفن التجارية في تلك المنطقة، خاصة بعد خسارة مصر لأكثر من سبعة مليارات دولار من إيرادات قناة السويس عام ٢٠٢٤ على إثر تلك الهجمات.

This evening, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab Summit, which was held in the New Administrative Capital.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the meeting underscored Egypt’s unwavering support for the unity, independence and territorial integrity of the State of Yemen. It also reiterated that Yemen’s security and stability are intertwined with Egypt’s national security and the security of the Arab region and the Red Sea.
President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s position in support of all efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people and ending their humanitarian suffering. The President confirmed that Egypt firmly believes that the Yemeni crisis will not be solved by force, but rather efforts must focus on achieving a peaceful political settlement conducive to a comprehensive and permanent solution.
President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Al-Alimi expressed gratitude to President El-Sisi and Egypt for their efforts to restore stability in Yemen and for supporting the Yemeni people. He lauded Egypt’s hosting of thousands of Yemenis, who are receiving an exemplary treatment from their Egyptian brothers, which demonstrates the profound historical relations between the two peoples.
The meeting also tackled ways to restore security and stability in Bab Al-Mandab area. The two sides affirmed the imperative to end attacks on commercial vessels in the region, particularly after Egypt’s loss of more than seven billion dollars in Suez Canal revenues in 2024 as a result of those attacks.
