التقى السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي، بالسيد “أنطونيو كوستا” رئيس المجلس الأوروبي، وذلك على هامش القمة العربية غير العادية المنعقدة بالعاصمة الإدارية الجديدة.
وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية أن اللقاء شهد التأكيد على عمق العلاقات بين مصر والإتحاد الأوروبي، وحرص الجانبين على تعزيزها في كافة المجالات، خاصة الإقتصادية والاستثمارية، بما يتفق مع إتفاقية الشراكة الإستراتيجية والشاملة ومحاورها الستة. كما تناول اللقاء ملف الهجرة غير الشرعية، حيث أعرب المسئول الأوروبي عن تقديره للجهود الكبيرة التي تقوم بها مصر في هذا الصدد ونجاحها في منع خروج مراكب تحمل مهاجرين غير شرعيين من السواحل المصرية منذ عام ٢٠١٦، وذلك في الوقت الذي تستضيف فيه مصر ما يزيد عن تسعة مليون اجنبي من جراء الأزمات المختلفة، وهو الأمر الذي يتعين معه توفير كل الدعم اللازم لمصر.
وأوضح السفير محمد الشناوي، المتحدث الرسمي، أن اللقاء تناول تطورات الأوضاع في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، حيث إستمع رئيس المجلس الأوروبي إلى رؤية السيد الرئيس بشأن سبل إستعادة الإستقرار الإقليمي، والجهود التي تقوم بها مصر لتنفيذ إتفاق وقف إطلاق النار في قطاع غزة، حيث أكد رئيس المجلس الأوروبي على تقدير دول الإتحاد الأوروبي للدور الذي تقوم بها مصر سعياً لتنفيذ الإتفاق بشكل كامل. وفي ذات الإطار، شدد السيد الرئيس ورئيس المجلس الأوروبي على ضرورة نفاذ المساعدات الإنسانية إلى القطاع بكميات كافية دون أي عراقيل، لضمان عدم تفاقم الأزمة الإنسانية التي يتعرض لها أهالي القطاع طوال الأشهر الماضية، كما حذرا من مغبة إستئناف القتال والعنف في القطاع، لما سوف يترتب على ذلك من تهديد للسلم والأمن في المنطقة بأسرها.
وأضاف السفير محمد الشناوي، المتحدث الرسمي، أن السيد الرئيس ورئيس المجلس الأوروبي حرصا على التأكيد على الرفض التام للاعتداءات الاسرائيلية بالضفة الغربية، كما شددا على رفضهما المطلق لمساعي تهجير الفلسطينيين أو تصفية القضية الفلسطينية، وأكدا على ضرورة بدء جهود إعادة الإعمار بشكل فوري في القطاع دون تهجير سكانه، حيث أعرب رئيس المجلس الأوروبي في هذا الصدد عن الترحيب بإعتماد القمة العربية للخطة المصرية لإعادة إعمار قطاع غزة. وفي هذا السياق، أكد الجانبان على أن إقامة الدولة الفلسطينية وفقًا لمقررات الشرعية الدولية تمثل الضمانة الوحيدة لتحقيق السلام الدائم في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، وشددا على ضرورة اضطلاع المجتمع الدولي بمسؤولياته لتحقيق هذا الهدف.
وذكر المتحدث الرسمي أن اللقاء تناول أيضاً تطورات الوضع في سوريا ولبنان وليبيا والسودان والصومال، حيث تم التأكيد على ضرورة العمل على تسوية الأزمات بالطرق السلمية، بما يحفظ وحدة وسلامة وإستقرار تلك الدول الشقيقة.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the President of the European Council, Mr. António Costa, on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab Summit held in the New Administrative Capital.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the meeting emphasized the deep relations between Egypt and the European Union, and the keenness of both sides to strengthen them across all fields, particularly economic and investment, in line with the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement and its six axes. The meeting also addressed the issue of illegal immigration. Mr. Costa expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s great efforts in this regard and its success in preventing the departure of boats carrying illegal immigrants from the Egyptian coast since 2016, at a time when Egypt hosts more than nine million foreigners as a result of various crises, which requires providing all necessary support to Egypt.
The meeting also addressed developments in the Middle East. The President of the European Council listened to the President’s views regarding ways to restore regional stability, as well as Egypt’s efforts to implement the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. The President of the European Council confirmed the appreciation of the European Union countries for the role played by Egypt to fully implement the agreement. The President and the President of the European Council stressed the need for humanitarian aid to reach the Strip in sufficient quantities without any obstacles, to ensure that the humanitarian crisis from which the people of the Strip have been suffering over the past months does not exacerbate. They warned against the consequences of resuming fighting and violence in the Strip, as this would threaten peace and security in the entire region.
President El-Sisi and the President of the European Council emphasized their complete rejection of the Israeli attacks in the West Bank, and stressed their absolute rejection of attempts to displace the Palestinians or liquidate the Palestinian issue. They also stressed the need to start reconstruction efforts immediately in the Strip without displacing its people. The President of the European Council welcomed in this regard the Arab Summit’s adoption of the Egyptian plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. Both sides stressed that the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions represents the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace in the Middle East, and stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to achieve this goal.
The meeting also discussed the developments in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan and Somalia, where the need to work to resolve crises through peaceful means was emphasized, in a way that preserves the unity, safety and stability of these countries.
