وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية أن السيد الرئيس وجه التهنئة الحارة إلى الرئيس اللبناني على انتخابه، مؤكداً سيادته على إيمان مصر بقدرة الرئيس اللبناني على قيادة البلاد خلال هذه المرحلة الدقيقة التي يمر بها لبنان والمنطقة، وتحقيق تطلعات الشعب اللبناني الشقيق، معرباً عن تطلعه للقائه قريباً لمناقشة سبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك بين البلدين.

وأضاف السفير محمد الشناوي، المتحدث الرسمي، أن السيد الرئيس أكد على أن مصر ستظل دائماً داعمة للبنان الشقيق وسيادته، وأنها مستعدة لتقديم المساعدة وكافة سبل الدعم الممكنة للبنان بما يضمن استقراره، ويعزز من قدرته على مواجهة التحديات، وبحيث يبدأ لبنان مرحلة جديدة ينعم فيها بالأمن والاستقرار.

ومن جانبه، ثمن الرئيس اللبناني الدور المصري الداعم والمساند للبنان وشعبه، مؤكداً اعتزازه بالعلاقات الأخوية التاريخية التي تربط بين البلدين، ومشدداً على حرصه على تعزيز الروابط التي تجمع الشعبين الشقيقين وتحقق تطلعاتهما المشتركة.

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke by phone with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the President extended his warm congratulations to the Lebanese president on his election. The President confirmed Egypt’s belief in the Lebanese president’s ability to lead the country during the critical juncture that Lebanon and the region are going through and to achieve the aspirations of the Lebanese people. President El-Sisi looked forward to meeting President Aoun soon to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries.

The President stressed that Egypt would always support Lebanon and its sovereignty, and expressed Egypt’s readiness to provide assistance and all means of support to Lebanon to ensure its stability and enhance its ability to face challenges, in order for Lebanon to begin a new phase marked by security and stability.

The Lebanese president expressed appreciation for Egypt’s supportive role for Lebanon and its people and valued the historical fraternal relations that bind the two countries. The Lebanese president stressed his keenness to strengthen ties between the two peoples and achieve their common aspirations.
