نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الخارجية يبحث مع نظيره الإيراني تداعيات الأزمة السورية وتعزيز التعاون الإقليمي

استقبل نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الخارجية، السيد فؤاد حسين، وزير الخارجية الإيراني، السيد عباس عراقجي، في مبنى وزارة الخارجية ببغداد.
تناول اللقاء استعراض التطورات في المنطقة، وبشكل خاص الأوضاع في سوريا. وأعرب الجانبان عن قلقهما البالغ إزاء خطورة ما يحدث هناك، مؤكدين أن تمدد الإرهاب في سوريا يشكل تهديداً مباشراً لأمن المنطقة بأسرها.
وشدد السيد فؤاد حسين على أن العراق يدعم جميع المبادرات الهادفة إلى تحقيق التوازن والاستقرار في المنطقة، مبدياً استعداد بلاده لتقديم كل ما يلزم للمساهمة في تحقيق السلام وخفض التصعيد. وأكد أن ما يحدث في سوريا يؤثر بشكل مباشر على أمن كل من العراق وإيران، مما يستدعي تنسيق المواقف لضمان أمن واستقرار شعوب المنطقة.
كما أشار السيد الوزير إلى أن أمن المنطقة لا يمكن تحقيقه بالوسائل العسكرية وحدها، مؤكداً على أهمية الدور الذي يجب أن تلعبه الدبلوماسية في معالجة الأزمات وإرساء الاستقرار الإقليمي.
Deputy Prime Minister And Foreign Minister Meets his Iranian Counterpart to Discuss Repercussions of Syrian Crisis and Enhancing Regional Cooperation
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein received the Iranian Foreign Minister Mr. Abbas Araghchi at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad, on Friday, December 6, 2024.
The meeting touched on the developments in the region, especially the situation in Syria. As well the two sides expressed their deep concern over the gravity of what is happening there, stressing that the expansion of terrorism in Syria poses a direct threat to the security of the entire region.
Minister Hussein affirms that Iraq supports all initiatives aimed at achieving balance and stability in the region, expressing his country’s readiness to provide all necessary assistance to contribute to achieving peace and de-escalation, the Minister added that what is happening in Syria directly affects the security of both Iraq and Iran, which calls for coordinating stances to ensure the security and stability of the peoples of the region.
Additionally the Minister indicated that the security of the region cannot be achieved by military means alone, underlining the importance of the role that diplomacy must play in addressing crises and establishing regional stability.
