استقبلت وزيرة الهجرة والمهجرين السيدة إيڨان فائق جابرو، سعادة السفير الأسترالي لدى العراق السيد غلين مايلز والوفد المرافق له في مقر الوزارة وسط بغداد، وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين وسبل تطويرها وتعزيزها بما يخدم مصلحة البلدين.

كما شهد اللقاء أيضا، مناقشة الخطوات التي تقوم بها الوزارة تمهيدا لإغلاق مخيمات النزوح بالتعاون والتنسيق مع الجهات المعنية ،وأكدت السيدة الوزيرة في هذا الصدد أن الوزارة ملتزمة بتنفيذ التوصيات التي أقرها مجلس الوزراء ودعم الأسر العائدة وتوفير كافة متطلبات العيش الكريم لها في مناطق العودة، داعيةً إلى مزيد من الدعم الدولي لإنهاء هذا الملف ودعم مناطق العودة.

من جهته، أشاد السفير الأسترالي بالجهود الحكومية المبذولة لدعم الاستقرار في مناطق العودة وتهيئة الأرضية المناسبة لعودة الأسر إلى مناطق سكناها الأصلية، مؤكدًا أن بلاده ستواصل دعم العائدين.

MOMD Minister calls for supporting Iraq’s efforts to end the displacement file and restore stability in the return areas

Minister of Migration and Displacement, Ms. Evan Faeq Jabro, received His Excellency the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Glen Miles, and his accompanying delegation at the ministry’s headquarters in central Baghdad. During the meeting,were discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop and strengthen them to serve the interests of both countries .

The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the steps taken by the ministry in preparation for closing displacement camps in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities. In this regard, the Minister stressed that the ministry is committed to implementing the recommendations approved by the Council of Ministers and supporting returning families and providing them with all the requirements for a decent life in the return areas , calling for more international support to end this file and support the areas of return.

For his part, the Australian ambassador praised the government’s efforts to support stability in the return areas and prepare the appropriate ground for the return of families to their original areas , stressing that his country will continue to support the returnees.
