تلقى السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اتصالاً هاتفياً من الرئيس الأمريكي “جو بايدن”.
وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية المستشار د. أحمد فهمي أن الاتصال تناول الجهود المشتركة التي تقوم بها مصر وقطر والولايات المتحدة للتهدئة في قطاع غزة والتوصل إلى وقف لإطلاق النار وتبادل المحتجزين وإنفاذ المساعدات الإنسانية.
وقد شدد السيد الرئيس في هذا الصدد على ضرورة التوصل لوقف فوري ومستدام لإطلاق النار، يتيح نفاذ المساعدات الإنسانية بالشكل الكافي والملائم، بما يحقق تحسناً حقيقياً في الأوضاع بالقطاع، محذراً من خطورة استمرار التصعيد العسكري واستهداف المدنيين، ومؤكداً إدانة مصر الكاملة لاستهداف المدنيين العزل بالمخالفة للقانون الدولي وقرارات الشرعية الدولية.
ومن جانبه ثمن الرئيس الأمريكي الجهود المشتركة للدفع تجاه التهدئة، التي تعد أولوية في الوقت الحالي لاستعادة الاستقرار في الإقليم، معرباً عن التقدير بوجه خاص للجهود المصرية المكثفة سواء على المسار السياسي الهادف للتهدئة أو من خلال دورها القيادي المحوري في عملية إدخال المساعدات الإغاثية لأهالي غزة عبر منفذ رفح.
وأضاف المتحدث الرسمي أن الاتصال تناول أيضاً مجمل الأوضاع الإقليمية حيث أكد الرئيسان ضرورة تجنب توسع الصراع بالمنطقة، واتفقا على استمرار التشاور والتنسيق لضمان استعادة السلم والأمن بالإقليم، كما تم خلال اللقاء تأكيد قوة الشراكة الاستراتيجية بين البلدين وتناول سبل تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية المتميزة التي تربط بينهما.
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from US President Joe Biden.
The Spokesman for the Presidency Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy said that the call addressed the joint efforts made by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States to calm the situation in the Gaza Strip, reach a ceasefire, exchange captives, and allow access to humanitarian aid.
President El-Sisi stressed the need to reach an immediate and sustainable ceasefire that allows adequate and appropriate access to humanitarian aid in order to achieve a real improvement in the situation in the Gaza Strip. He warned of the danger of continuing military escalation and targeting civilians and confirmed Egypt’s complete condemnation of targeting defenseless civilians in violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
The US president expressed his appreciation for the joint efforts towards achieving calm, which is a priority at the present time to restore stability in the region, particularly appreciation for the intensified Egyptian efforts, whether on the political track aimed at achieving calm or through its key leadership role in the process of delivering relief aid to the people of Gaza via Rafah Port.
The call covered the overall regional situation. The two presidents stressed the need to avoid the expansion of conflict in the region and agreed to continue consultation and coordination to ensure the restoration of peace and security in the region. The strength of the strategic partnership between the two countries was also confirmed during the meeting, and ways to strengthen the distinguished bilateral relations between them were discussed.
