استقبل السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي، اليوم بقصر الاتحادية، السيد “نيكوس خريستودوليدس” رئيس قبرص.
وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية المستشار أحمد فهمي أن اللقاء تناول العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين، حيث شهد تأكيدًا للحرص المتبادل على مواصلة تعزيز العلاقات المتميزة والوثيقة التي تتطور بشكل مطرد خلال الفترة الأخيرة، وقد استعرض الرئيسان سبل توسيع هذا التعاون في عدد من الملفات ذات الأولوية وعلى رأسها ملف الطاقة، مع استشراف آفاق جديدة لتوطيد العلاقات، سواء على المستوى الثنائي أو من خلال آلية التعاون الثلاثي بين مصر وقبرص واليونان.
وأضاف المتحدث الرسمي أن اللقاء تطرق أيضًا إلى الأوضاع الإقليمية، وبالأخص التصعيد في قطاع غزة، حيث استعرض السيد الرئيس الجهود المصرية للتوصل إلى وقف دائم لإطلاق النار في القطاع، مؤكدًا ضرورة اضطلاع المجتمع الدولي بمسئولياته في هذا الشأن، كما تناول السيد الرئيس العمل المكثف الذي تقوم به مصر لنفاذ المساعدات الإنسانية المصرية لأهالي القطاع، مشدداً على استعداد مصر لاستقبال وتنسيق كافة المساعدات الدولية الموجهة للقطاع، وقد ثمن الرئيس القبرصي الجهود المصرية الحثيثة للتهدئة وكذا على الجانب الإنساني، مؤكدًا حرص قبرص على التنسيق المستمر مع مصر في هذا الصدد، خاصةً في ضوء الرؤية المشتركة للبلدين بشأن أولوية العمل لإقرار السلام وضمان الاستقرار في الإقليم، وفي هذا الصدد شدد السيد الرئيس على ضرورة العمل الدولي على الدفع بإنفاذ حل الدولتين وإقامة الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية، باعتبار ذلك السبيل لتحقيق السلام والأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.

Spokesman for the Presidency Counselor Ahmed Fahmy said the meeting touched on relations between the two countries. Both sides affirmed keenness to continue strengthening the distinguished and close relations that have been developing steadily during the recent period.
The two presidents reviewed ways to expand this cooperation in a number of priority files, mainly energy, while exploring new horizons for consolidating relations, whether at the bilateral level or through the tripartite cooperation mechanism among Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece.
The meeting also touched on the regional developments, especially the escalation in the Gaza Strip.
President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire in the Strip and stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities in this regard. The President also reviewed Egypt’s diligent efforts to deliver Egyptian humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza Strip and confirmed Egypt’s readiness to receive and coordinate with all international efforts directed to the Strip.
The Cypriot President praised Egypt’s tireless efforts to calm the situation, as well as on the humanitarian level and stressed Cyprus’ keenness on continuous coordination with Egypt in this regard, in light of the vision shared by the two countries on the priority of establishing peace and ensuring stability in the region. President El-Sisi stressed the necessity of international action to advance the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the way to achieve peace, security and stability in the region.
