التقى السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسى مع رئيس وزراء المملكة المتحدة ريشي سوناك، وذلك على هامش أعمال “الدورة الـ٢٨ لمؤتمر أطراف اتفاقية الأمم المُتحدة الإطارية لتغير المناخ” في دبي.

وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية أن اللقاء شهد التباحث حول سبل تعزيز التعاون الثنائي والتنسيق السياسي وتبادل الرؤى بشأن مختلف الملفات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، حيث ثمن الجانبان الروابط الوثيقة بين مصر والمملكة المتحدة وأكدا التطلع لمزيد من تفعيلها على جميع الأصعدة.

وأضاف المتحدث الرسمي أن اللقاء تطرق إلى تبادل الرؤى بخصوص تطورات العمل المناخي في ضوء انعقاد قمة المناخ بدبي، إلى جانب مستجدات الأوضاع الراهنة في قطاع غزة، حيث أشاد رئيس وزراء المملكة المتحدة بالجهود الدؤوبة التي تضطلع بها مصر في هذا الصدد، خاصةً على صعيد تنسيق الجهود الدولية لإيصال المساعدات الإنسانية للقطاع، وقد توافق الجانبان بشأن خطورة الوضع الحالي، لاسيما في ظل التبعات غير المحسوبة لتوسيع دائرة الصراع على استقرار المنطقة. وقد استعرض السيد الرئيس في هذا الخصوص الجهود التي تقوم بها مصر على مسار التهدئة، مؤكداً ضرورة توفير الحماية اللازمة للمدنيين، مع السعي نحو إيجاد الأفق السياسي الملائم للتوصل إلى حل عادل وشامل للقضية الفلسطينية.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, on the sidelines of the 28th Session of Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai.

The spokesman for the presidency said the meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, political coordination, and saw the exchange of views on various issues of common interest, as both sides appreciated the close ties between Egypt and the United Kingdom and looked forward to further activating them at all levels.

President El-Sisi and Prime Minister Sunak exchanged views on developments in climate action, as well as recent developments in the Gaza Strip. The prime minister of the United Kingdom praised the tireless efforts undertaken by Egypt in this regard, especially at the level of coordination of international efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the sector. The two sides agreed on the gravity of the current situation, especially in light of the uncalculated consequences of expanding the conflict on the stability of the region. The President reviewed the efforts made by Egypt on the path of calm, stressing the necessity of providing the necessary protection for civilians, while striving to find the appropriate political horizon to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
