استقبل السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم السيدة “سيندي ماكين” المديرة التنفيذية لبرنامج الغذاء العالمي بحضور السيد/ السيد القصير وزير الزراعة واستصلاح الأراضي.
وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية المستشار أحمد فهمي أن اللقاء تناول علاقات التعاون المتميزة والممتدة بين مصر والبرنامج،
وتأكيد الحرص المتبادل على تعزيز هذه العلاقات، لاسيما في ضوء اعتماد الخطة القُطرية الجديدة بين مصر والبرنامج للفترة من 2023 إلى 2028.
كما أكد السيد الرئيس الأهمية التي توليها مصر لموضوعات الأمن الغذائي والتغذية على المستوى الوطني، وبالأخص فيما يتعلق ببرنامج التغذية المدرسية، ومشروعي حياة كريمة وتكافل وكرامة، اللذين يسهمان في تحقيق الأمن الغذائي من خلال تطوير الريف المصري وتأمين سُبُل العيش لملايين المصريين، وقد أعربت المديرة التنفيذية من جانبها عن متابعتها وتقديرها للمشروعات المذكورة التي تعد نماذج ناجحة للاستفادة بها في الدول الأخرى.
وأضاف المتحدث الرسمي أن اللقاء تناول الملفات الإقليمية وعلى رأسها تطورات الأوضاع في قطاع غزة، حيث وجهت المديرة التنفيذية الشكر لمصر على الدور القيادي المحوري الذي تقوم به لتقديم الدعم لأهالي القطاع، سواء من خلال الدعم المصري المباشر، أو عن طريق تنسيق المساعدات المقدمة من الأطراف الدولية، بما فيها برنامج الغذاء العالمي والمنظمات الأممية الأخرى ذات الصلة.
وفي هذا السياق، شدد السيد الرئيس على قلق مصر البالغ من استمرار تدهور الأوضاع الإنسانية بالقطاع، مستعرضاً الجهود المكثفة التي تقوم بها مصر على مدار الساعة لضمان إدخال أكبر قدر ممكن من المساعدات، بما يلبي الاحتياجات الحقيقية لأهالي القطاع، مع استمرار المساعي المصرية مع مختلف الأطراف الإقليمية والدولية للدفع في اتجاه الوقف الفوري لإطلاق النار، مؤكداً كذلك ضرورة إحياء المسار السياسي استناداً إلى حل الدولتين، وإقامة دولة فلسطينية مستقلة وفقاً للمرجعيات الدولية المعتمدة.
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Executive Director of the World Food Programme, Cindy McCain. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, said the meeting tackled the outstanding and extended cooperation relations between Egypt and the WFP, and confirmed mutual commitment to enhancing relations, notably in light of the adoption of the new country plan between Egypt and the WFP for the period 2023-2028.
President El-Sisi emphasized the importance Egypt accords to food security and nutrition issues at the national level, particularly with regard to school feeding programmes as well as the ‘Decent Life’ and ‘Takaful & Karama’ projects, which contribute to achieving food security through the development of the Egyptian villages and securing livelihood for millions of Egyptians. The WFP Executive Director noted that she follow-up and appreciates the aforementioned projects that are considered as successful models from which other countries can benefit.
The meeting also discussed regional dossiers, primarily developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip. The WFP Executive Director extended gratitude to Egypt for its key and leading role in support of the people in Gaza, through the direct Egyptian assistance or its coordination of the aid provided by international parties, including the WFP as well as other relevant UN organizations.
President El-Sisi underscored Egypt’s deep concern regarding the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Strip. The President reviewed the massive efforts exerted by Egypt around the clock to ensure the delivery of the greatest amount of aid possible to meet the real needs of the people of the Gaza Strip, while continuing Its endeavors with the various regional and international actors to push toward reaching an immediate ceasefire. President El-Sisi reiterated the imperative need to revive the political path based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, in accordance with the adopted international references.
