تلقى السيد الرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسي اتصالاً هاتفياً من الرئيس الأمريكي جو بايدن، في إطار متابعة نتائج الزيارة الأخيرة لوزير الخارجية الأمريكي إلى القاهرة، وارتباطاً بالتشاور المستمر بين البلدين بشأن مستجدات الوضع الإقليمي المتوتر والتصعيد العسكري في قطاع غزة.

وأوضح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية أن الرئيسين اتفقا على خطورة الموقف الحالي وأهمية احتوائه بما لا يسمح باتساع دائرة الصراع وتهديد الأمن والاستقرار الإقليميين. كما تم التوافق بشأن أولوية حماية المدنيين وإيصال المساعدات الإنسانية لقطاع غزة، وناقش الرئيسان المشاورات الجارية في هذا الصدد بالتنسيق مع الأمم المتحدة، كما ناقشا الجهود المبذولة لدفع وإحياء مسيرة السلام، وتم الاتفاق على استمرار التشاور وتنسيق الجهود خلال الفترة المقبلة.

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from President of the United States of America, Joe Biden. The call came within the framework of following-up on the outcome of the last visit to Cairo by U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and as part of the ongoing consultations between the two countries on the latest developments in the tense regional situation and the military escalation in the Gaza Strip.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmad Fahmy, said the two Presidents concurred about the gravity of the current situation and the necessity to contain it in a way that would not allow the expansion of the cycle of the conflict and threatening regional security and stability.

President El-Sisi and American President Biden also agreed on the priority of protecting civilians and delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. They also discussed the ongoing consultations in this regard with the United Nations, as well as efforts exerted to advance and revive the peace track. President El-Sisi and President Biden agreed to continue consultations and coordination of efforts in the coming period.
