إستضافت جمهورية مصر العربية الإجتماع الثلاثى الخامس لوزراء دفاع مصر وقبرص واليونان
لبحث علاقات التعاون العسكرى المشترك ،
بحضور عدد من قادة القوات المسلحة المصرية والقبرصية واليونانية ، حيث تناول الإجتماع عدد من الموضوعات والقضايا التى تمس المصالح المشتركة للدول الثلاث .
وعقد القائد العام للقوات المسلحة لقاء ثنائى مع السيد / خارلامبوس بيتريدس وزير الدفاع القبرصى
تناول اللقاء مناقشة عدد من الموضوعات ذات الإهتمام المشترك فى ضوء مجالات التعاون العسكرى ونقل وتبادل الخبرات بين القوات المسلحة لكلا البلدين .
كما عقد الفريق أول / محمد زكى القائد العام للقوات المسلحة وزير الدفاع والإنتاج الحربى لقاء ثنائى مع السيد / نيكولاوس باناجيوتوبولوس وزير الدفاع اليونانى
تناول اللقاء إستعراض الأوضاع الإقليمية والدولية الراهنة وانعكاساتها على الأمن والإستقرار بالشرق الأوسط وشرق المتوسط وسبل تعزيز التعاون والعلاقات العسكرية بين القوات المسلحة لكلا البلدين .
أعقب ذلك بدأ فعاليات الإجتماع الثلاثى
بكلمة إفتتاحية للفريق أول / محمد زكى القائد العام للقوات المسلحة وزير الدفاع والإنتاج الحربى
أكد خلالها على أهمية دعم سبل التعاون والشراكة بين مصر وقبرص واليونان مما يسهم فى تحقيق الأمن والإستقرار بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشرق المتوسط ،
مشيدا ً بالتعاون المثمر الذى تشهده العلاقات المصرية القبرصية اليونانية خلال الآونة الأخيرة مما يدعم توحيد المفاهيم تجاه كافة القضايا التى تمس المصالح المشتركة للدول الثلاث .
وأكد وزير الدفاع القبرصى خلال الإجتماع على أهمية إستمرار التنسيق بين مصر وقبرص واليونان لدعم العلاقات الممتدة من الشراكة والتعاون ولاسيما فى المجال العسكرى والتدريبات المشتركة وتبادل الخبرات بين القوات المسلحة لكل منهما ، معرباً عن تقديره الكامل للقوات المسلحة المصرية نظراً لما تمثله من قوة عسكرية ذات صقل إستراتيجى بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط .
فيما أشار وزير الدفاع اليونانى إلى أهمية الإجتماع وما خلص إليه من نتائج تعزز المصالح المشتركة ، كما أعرب عن تقديره لدور مصر المؤثر والفاعل فى محيطها الإقليمى والدولى وتحقيق الأمن والإستقرار بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشرق المتوسط .
وفى ختام جلسات المباحثات وفعاليات الإجتماع تم توقيع بيان مشترك فى إطار مساعى القوات المسلحة المصرية والقبرصية واليونانية لدعم علاقات التعاون فى المجالات الدفاعية والأمنية من أجل مواجهة التحديات والتهديدات ودعم سبل السلام والإستقرار فى منطقة شرق البحر المتوسط .
وعلى هامش الإجتماع تم تنظيم مؤتمراً صحفياً لوزراء دفاع كلاً من مصر وقبرص واليونان ، وذلك فى إطار عرض نتائج الإجتماع وجلسات المباحثات التى تهدف إلى دعم علاقات التعاون العسكرى بما يلبى المصالح المشتركة للدول الثلاث .
وتضمنت فعاليات المؤتمر إستعراض كلاً من الفريق أول / محمد زكى القائد العام للقوات المسلحة وزير الدفاع والإنتاج الحربى والسيد / خارلامبوس بيتريدس وزير الدفاع القبرصى ، والسيد / نيكولاوس باناجيوتوبولوس وزير الدفاع اليونانى ، للجهود المبذولة بما يدعم ركائز الأمن والإستقرار بمنطقة شرق البحر المتوسط ، فضلاً على تتويج التنسيق العسكرى المصرى القبرصى اليونانى المشترك بأقصى درجات التفاهم الذى أدى إلى توحيد الرؤى تجاه مختلف القضايا والموضوعات على الصعيدين الإقليمى والدولى .
A tripartite Meeting of the Defense Ministers of Egypt, Cyprus and Greece to Discuss Relations of Joint Military Cooperation …

The Arab Republic of Egypt hosted the fifth trilateral meeting of the defense ministers of Egypt, Cyprus and Greece to discuss relations of joint military cooperation, in the presence of a number of commanders of the Egyptian, Cypriot and Greek Armed Forces. The meeting dealt with a number of topics and issues affecting the common interests of the three countries.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Charalambos Petrides, Minister of Defense of Cyprus. The meeting discussed a number of issues of common interest in light of the areas of military cooperation in addition to transferring and exchanging of experiences between the Armed Forces of both countries.
General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, also held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, Greek Minister of Defense. The meeting reviewed the current regional and international situations and their repercussions on security and stability in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean and ways to enhance cooperation and military relations between the Armed Forces of both countries.
This was followed by the start of the trilateral meeting with an opening speech by General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, during which he stressed the importance of supporting means of cooperation and partnership between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece, which contributes to achieving security and stability in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean, praising the fruitful cooperation witnessed by the Egyptian-Cypriot-Greek relations during the recent times, which supports the unification of concepts towards all issues that affect the common interests of the three countries.
During the meeting, the Cypriot Minister of Defense stressed the importance of continuing coordination between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece to support the extended relations of partnership and cooperation, especially in the military field, joint exercises and exchange of experiences between the Armed Forces of each of them, expressing his full appreciation to the Egyptian Armed Forces for their strategic military strength in the Middle East region.
While the Greek Minister of Defense pointed to the importance of the meeting and its results that promote common interests. He also expressed his appreciation for the influential and effective role of Egypt in its regional and international surroundings to achieve security and stability in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean.
At the conclusion of the discussions and meeting activities, a joint statement was signed within the framework of the efforts of the Egyptian, Cypriot and Greek Armed Forces to support cooperation relations in the Defense and Security fields in order to confront challenges and threats and support ways of peace and stability in the eastern Mediterranean region. On the sidelines of the meeting, a press conference was organized by the Defense Ministers of Egypt, Cyprus and Greece, within the framework of presenting the results of the meeting and sessions of discussions aimed at strengthening military cooperation relations in a manner that meets the common interests of the three countries.
The conference activities included a review by General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, Mr. Charlampos Petrides, Minister of Defense of Cyprus, and Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, Minister of Defense of Greece, of the efforts made to support the pillars of security and stability in the eastern Mediterranean region as well as enriching the joint Egyptian-Cypriot-Greek military coordination with the highest degree of understanding, which led to the unification of visions towards various issues and topics at the regional and international levels.
